Kathleen Fisher retires at end of year

Longtime Butler County Tribune-Journal office manager and billing clerk Kathleen Fisher will retire on December 31. The public is invited to a retirement open house in her honor at the Butler County Farm Bureau building on Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sandwiches and cake will be served.

“Kathleen has been a valu-able asset to our newspaper and will be greatly missed,” said editor Bethany Carson.

While Fisher looks forward to her retirement, she will miss working at the Tribune-Journal.

“I’ve enjoyed working with all of the Tribune-Journal staff, Bethany, Mary, Monica, Dave, and being part of put-ting together a great weekly paper for our customers,” Fisher said. “I have mixed feel-ings about leaving, but am looking forward to being able to spend more time with my children and grandchildren. It’s been a pleasure to be part of the Mid-America Publishing Corp. and working with a great bunch of people, espe-cially the gals in the accounting office.”

Following Fisher’s retire-ment, the Butler County Trib-une-Journal office location in the Farm Bureau building will close. However, mail may still be sent to the Tribune-Journal, PO Box 8, Allison, IA 50602. Tribune-Journal business will be conducted out of the Clarksville Star office, located at 101 N Main Street, Clarks-ville, (319)-278-4641.

The Tribune-Journal remains committed to providing Allison and the surrounding Butler County communities with qual-ity news coverage.

“There will be no change in the coverage provided to Alli-son and the surrounding com-munities,” Carson said. “You’ll continue to see me around town at community and school events. If you have any story ideas or suggestions, please feel free to give me a call.”

At the end of the year, the Tribune-Journal newsstand will be moved to Allison Hardware, 303 N Main St., Allison. Pa-pers will also continue to be available at J&C Grocery and Casey’s in Allison, J&C Gro-cery and Kwik Star in Dumont, Smith’s Etc. and West Forty Market in Greene, and the Parkersburg Kwik Star.

There will be a drop box located outside of the Allison City Hall for subscribers to leave renewals or any infor-mation they would normally bring to the Tribune-Journal office, if they would prefer not to make the drive to Clarks-ville. Thank you for supporting your local newspaper.
